Once you’ve settled in, your guide who will be your dedicated companion throughout the trip hosts an orientation briefing to unveil the magic and mysteries awaiting you in the days ahead. After breakfast, we leave the city buzz behind for a scenic drive toward Akosombo, Ghana’s hydro‑electric heart. Our first stop is the Shai Hills Forest Reserve, where we step back in time to explore the ancestral caves of the Krobo people. Wander through a cool, dry evergreen forest alive with antelopes, baboons, and exotic birds. Discover the ancient fortresses once used by Shai Kings until the nineteenth century, hidden among towering stone formations and secret tunnels.

Continue to Akosombo Dam, the cradle of Ghana’s industrial power. While the dam itself is an engineering marvel, the surrounding views of the lake offer a peaceful backdrop for your first night on the river.

Today we head deep into the lush Volta Region for an encounter with nature. At Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, enter a sacred forest where Mona and Patas monkeys roam freely. Regarded as sacred by the local villagers, these playful primates have thrived here for generations.

Continue to Wli Waterfalls, the tallest waterfall in West Africa. Prepare for a breathtaking trek through the Agumatsa Forest, crossing the same winding river eleven times before reaching the base of the falls. Feel the spray of ice‑cold water as it plunges eighty feet into natural pools, and if you’re feeling brave, take a refreshing dip beneath the cascade.

After breakfast, immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Krobo Odumase at the Cedi Beads Factory. Witness the centuries‑old tradition of bead‑making using recycled glass, a craft that has marked Ghanaian births, marriages, and rites of passage for over four hundred years. You’ll have the chance to design your own beads, creating a personal keepsake that embodies Ghana’s artistry and spirit.

As the afternoon sun begins to dip, board a scenic Volta Lake Cruise. Drift past the iconic Adomi Bridge and watch the rhythmic daily life of local fishing villages unfold along the shore. The evening light paints the water gold as you relax to the gentle hum of the river.

Get ready for The Trident Akwamufie’s premier adventure destination, nestled on an island between the dam and the bridge. Begin with a steep two‑kilometer mountain hike to Trident Peak, rising two hundred meters above the river. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning bird's eye view of the island, the riverine causeways, and the ancient town below.

Next, head to Vulcan Rock for a vertigo‑inducing one‑hundred‑foot abseil, followed by a thrilling paintball challenge that tests your courage and teamwork. After the rush, slow things down with a four‑kilometer kayaking expedition around the island’s hidden inlets, gliding through calm waters surrounded by lush greenery.
