Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Cotonou, Benin!

Bienvenue! Your journey across the vibrant heart of West Africa begins the moment you touch down at Cotonou Cadjehoun International Airport. After clearing customs, you’ll be greeted by our expert cultural guide and whisked away to your hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. Once settled, your bilingual (English/French) guide will host an orientation briefing to unveil the incredible adventures awaiting you.

Day 2: The Kingdom of Dahomey & The Amazons

Highlights: Royal Palaces of Abomey & Esplanade des Amazones

After breakfast, step into the world of the Dahomey Amazons, the world’s only all-female army. You’ll visit the palace of Queen Hangbe, where history is written in blood-reinforced walls and ceremonial rituals. Visit the Esplanade des Amazones to stand beneath the towering 30-meter statue of the Dahomey Amazon. We’ll also visit Remembrance Square before enjoying a relaxing evening at your leisure.

Day 3: Ouidah: The Cradle of Voodoo

Highlights: Sacred Forest, Python Temple & The Gate of No Return

Today, we head to Ouidah, the spiritual birthplace of Voodoo and a historic gateway of the transatlantic slave trade. Visit the Voodoo Museum, the Sacred Forest, and the famous Temple of the Sacred Pythons. Walk the same path as the ancestors, visiting the "Tree of Forgetfulness" and ending at the somber "Gate of No Return" monument. You may even receive a traditional welcome from Dagbo Hounon, the Voodoo High Priest.

Day 4: Ganvie: The Venice of Africa

Highlights: Stilt Villages of Lake Nokoue & Arrival in Togo 

Experience one of West Africa's most unique sights Ganvie. After breakfast, take a boat across tranquil waterways to explore a sprawling community built entirely on stilts. Discover floating markets and a way of life that hasn't changed for centuries. Later, we departed Benin and headed toward Lomé, Togo’s cosmopolitan capital. Enjoy a free evening to soak in the sea breeze.

Day 5: Lomé City Heritage & Voodoo Charms

Highlights: Togoville, Fetish Market & Grand Marche

After breakfast, Cross Lake Togo by shared boat to visit the historic slave house and the red-earth village of Togoville. Meet a local herbalist to learn about traditional voodoo charms and sample potent herbal teas. Discover the vibrant Grand Marche, the National Museum, and the famous Akodessewa Fetish Market, where traditional magic products are traded.

Day 6: Lomé to Accra: The Volta River Celebration

Highlight: Torgorme Cultural Village

After breakfast, Pay a courtesy call to the paramount chief and elders. Participate in traditional drumming, dancing, and a pottery-making demonstration. We depart for the Ghana border and enjoy a scenic drive to Torgorme, a beautiful village along the Volta River.

Day 7: The Pulse of Accra

Highlights: Black Star Square, Fantasy Coffins & The Arts Centre

Your first full day in Ghana is packed with cultural energy. After breakfast, we visit Independence Square: Stand at the heart of Ghana's freedom movement and see the eternal flame of African liberation.
Explore exhibits that trace Ghana's history from prehistoric times to the modern day, Visit the world-famous workshops in Teshie-Nungua, where artisans carve coffins into incredible shapes like airplanes and cocoa pods, reflecting local beliefs in a vibrant afterlife.

Day 8: Elmina | The Castles of the Gold Coast

Highlight: Elmina Castle 

After breakfast, we journey west to the historic town of Elmina visit this UNESCO World Heritage Site, the oldest European structure in Sub-Saharan Africa. Walk through the dungeons and learn about its somber history as a major trade hub. Later when the sun is setting we take a walk to the harbor and  watch hundreds of colorful fishing canoes return from the sea, a true photographer’s paradise.

Day 9: Kakum | Walking Above the Canopy | Accra

Highlight: Kakum National Park 

After breakfast, Check out of your hotel where we Head into the lush rainforest of Kakum National Park. to go on the Canopy Walkway, the world-famous series of seven suspension bridges, hanging 30 meters above the forest level.

Day 10: Accra | Departure

Enjoy a final morning of leisure for last-minute souvenir shopping at the Art Centre or reflection by the Atlantic. Your driver will then transfer you to the airport for your flight home, leaving you with a profound connection to the Motherland.
