Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Accra

Akwaaba! While many believe there is no place like home for the holidays, Christmas in Ghana offers a uniquely vibrant celebration that will transform your perspective. This journey promises to be one of the most remarkable holiday experiences of your life.

Upon landing at Kotoka International Airport, our team will assist you through immigration and customs before transferring you via private, air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Spend your first evening unwinding and enjoying a delicious meal accompanied by soothing local melodies.

Day 2: Accra City Tour & Afrochella Opening Night

Highlights: W.E.B. Du Bois Centre • Flagstaff House • Jamestown • Independence Square • Arts & Crafts Market • Afrochella Festival

Begin your adventure in Accra, a lively 120‑year‑old city where modern skylines meet colonial charm. After breakfast, visit the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre, the former home of the renowned Pan‑Africanist. Continue past the Flagstaff House, Ghana’s presidential palace, before exploring Independence Square and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.

Shop for authentic crafts at the Accra Arts & Crafts Centre, then enjoy a guided walking tour through Jamestown, known for its historic lighthouses, fishing communities, and vibrant street art. Sample local favorites such as Ga Kenkey, Waakye, Banku, and spicy shito with assorted seafood.

In the evening, attend the Afrochella Festival Opening Night, a spectacular celebration of African art, fashion, food, and live performances.

Day 3: Journey to the Central Region

Highlights: Assin Manso Slave River • Elmina Castle

Travel to Ghana’s Central Region, a place of deep significance to the African Diaspora. Visit Assin Manso, home to the Slave River (Donkor Nsuo), where enslaved Africans took their final bath before being shipped across the Atlantic.

Continue to Elmina Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest European structure in Sub‑Saharan Africa. Walk through its historic corridors and reflect on the resilience of African ancestors. End the day with a scenic stroll through Elmina’s colorful fishing harbor.

 

Day 4: Kakum Canopy Walk & New Year’s Eve Party

Highlight: Kakum Canopy Walkway

Today, we head to Kakum National Park to experience Africa’s world-renowned canopy walkway. Suspended 100 feet above the jungle floor, these bridges offer stunning panoramic views of the rainforest.

We will return to Accra in time to prepare for the Afrochella New Year’s Eve Party. Celebrate the arrival of the New Year by dancing to Afrobeats and making lasting connections with travelers from around the globe.

Day 5: New Year’s Day Relaxation

Take this full day to recharge after the holiday celebrations. Whether you choose to lounge by the pool, sleep in, or reflect on your travels, the day is entirely yours to enjoy at your own pace.

Day 6: Batik Crafting

Highlight: Hands-on Kente & Batik Crafting

After breakfast, immerse yourself in Ghanaian artistry at a local craft center. You will participate in a professional workshop to learn the intricate techniques Batik, and Tie-Dye. Best of all, you’ll design and create your own custom fabric to take home as a personal treasure.

Day 7: Ada Foah

Highlights: Makola Market, Aqua Safari Resort

We begin a two-day retreat to the Aqua Safari Resort in Ada Foah. Before leaving the capital, we’ll visit the bustling Makola Market for a true taste of local commerce.

Upon arriving at the resort, enjoy a gourmet lunch by the shore. Spend your afternoon at the pool overlooking the Atlantic or relaxing with personal butler service. The night may include a beach bonfire accompanied by live music.

Day 8: Island Exploration & Boat Cruise

Wake up to a sumptuous breakfast in the resort gardens. Spend the morning meeting the resident ponies or take a smooth Segway ride and enjoy the day at leisure

Following lunch, enjoy a peaceful boat cruise through the Mangroves and Islands, where you'll learn about local gin production and environmental conservation. We return to Accra in the evening for a final taste of the city’s nightlife.

Day 9: Day at Leisure

This day is reserved for personal leisure. It’s the perfect opportunity for last-minute souvenir shopping or to revisit your favorite spots in Accra for quiet reflection.

Day 10: Departure
